Rev. Graham: Hillary Is Not the 'Devil,' But 'Devil Is Real, Hell Is a Real Place'

Rev. Franklin Graham, son of pastor Billy Graham, disagreed with Donald Trump's assertion in Sunday's presidential debate that Hillary Clinton is the "Devil," but he affirmed that the Devil, Lucifer, certainly is real and that "Hell is a real place."
The reverend further said he has often thought of the "millions and millions of souls weeping, wailing, screaming in the darkness" of Hell "with no one to help them," and yet those who are still alive have time to reach out to God, ask forgiveness, and strive to "escape" Hell.
In an Oct. 11 post on Facebook, Rev. Graham said, "Donald J. Trump has said Hillary Clinton was the devil, but I can assure you that’s not the case. The devil is real. Hell is a real place."
"The Bible says Hell is a place of darkness, a place of eternal torment, a place of 'eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels' (Matthew 25:41)," said Rev. Graham.
"Have you ever thought about what it would be like to go to Hell?" he said. "What it will be like for millions and millions of souls who end up there for eternity? I’ve thought about it. I think of family who have gone to Hell, friends who have gone to Hell."
"There will be millions and millions of souls weeping, wailing, screaming in the darkness with no one to help them," said Rev. Graham.  "This is Hell. How do we escape? How can we have that hope of being in heaven for eternity?"
He continued, “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). If you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ today you will be saved. What a wonderful promise. If you haven’t done that, I urge you to do it today."
In the Bible, Jesus Christ spoke more about Hell than He did of Heaven. In Mark (9:43-48), Jesus says, "[I]f your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to Hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into Hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched."
Franklin Graham, 64, is married, has five children, and lives in Boone, N.C. He oversees the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and the international Christian relief group Samaritan's Purse.
