A radical Islamic convict threw a home-made bomb at a church in Indonesia, killing a 2-year-old girl and severely injuring three other children, according to The Jakarta Post.
Jo Bin Muhammad Aceng Kurnia has been identified by authorities as a former convict with ties to the Islamic state.
He attacked Oikumene Church in in Samarinda, last Sunday during their church service.
2-year-old Intan Olivia was pronounced dead the next morning from severe burns.
"She is my first child and she is the only one I have," Anggiat Marbun, her father, told The Jakarta Post on Monday.
"I was holding her close to me while I was praying in church before her cousin came to ask me to let her go outside and play with the other kids. As the prayer concluded, I said 'amen' and the bomb went off at the same time. All I could think of at that moment was my daughter," said Anggiat.
Three other toddlers are receiving medical treatment in the intensive care unit at a hospital in Samarinda.
Kurnia reportedly visited a mosque before driving to the church wearing a shirt with the words, "Jihad way of life," according to the advocacy group International Christian Concern.
Five other people have been arrested in connection to the attack, Morning Star News reports.
