Here’s How God ‘Smacked’ Jordin Sparks Back Into Gear After She Strayed

Pop star Jordin Sparks revealed the dramatic moment that has reignited her Christian faith, sharing the details with tens of thousands of people assembled for Harvest America at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday night.
Sparks explained that her life was a bit chaotic last year when her aunt and uncle invited her to attend an Easter morning church service in Los Angeles, where she now lives. At the time, she had no idea that accepting their gesture would be transformational.
“There was a lot of crazy chaos going on in my life and I was out partying and I just was hurting and I was trying to figure out what was going on,” she said. “So, I finally go, I get there … when I tell you Jesus met me there last Easter and he reawakened me.”
Sparks said that God “smacked” her back into gear, as she felt like Jesus was saying, “Get it together, Jordin.”
While she didn’t share the finer details of her struggles, Sparks said that, up to that point, she simply wasn’t seeking God.
“I wasn’t seeking that relationship,” the singer explained, adding that she changed her ways that very day and has been living for God ever since. “Being able to know this Jesus that walks beside you every, single day has been the most amazing year of my life.”
Sparks went on to sing popular hymn “My Redeemer Lives,” but reminded those in the audience of an important detail beforehand: “It’s never too late to come home … [God] loves you no matter what.”
Watch sparks share her story — and perform — here.
As Faithwire previously reported, 38,000 Christians flocked to the University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday for Harvest America, an event aimed at spreading the gospel and positively impacting a “nation desperately in need of hope.”
In recent years, Sparks has made it no secret that she’s a Christian. She starred in the reboot of the “Left Behind” film, a movie based on prophetic novels about the biblical end times.
